New release of the advanced mechanical engineering application works in the environment of AutoCAD® 2007, AutoCAD® LT 2007 and Autodesk Inventor 11. It supports also previous releases of all three platforms and brings many extensions to highly acclaimed functionality of GeniusMechaniCS 2006 , following the wishes and suggestions of customers.

Intelligent parts connections.
In most cases Inventor parts (and especially Design Accelerator subassemblies) - are static parts. Many operations are necessary to change property values or replace one standard part with another. GeniusMechaniCS allows for quick replacement of standard parts, editing their parameters and predict changes in connected parts. This means a lot of saved time for generating and editing unified elements of mechanical design. New autodrop functionality in Inventor 11 makes it possible to automatically choose right size of fastener inserted in the hole, but GMCS offers much more capabilities. For instance, if you want to insert bearing on the shaft and shaft diameter is slightly lower or bigger than inner bearing diameter, GMCS will change shaft diameter to be equal, if user confirms it, of course. Such dependences propagate through whole design and any changes in one part can make following associatively changes in whole assembly model automatically. And this works not only for simple fastening connections, but also for shaft design, hydraulics and pneumatics, tools and etc. Any GMCS intelligent part has such dependencies.

Hydraulics and pneumatics.
GeniusMechaniCS adds additional tube&pipe design functionality which allows designing of complex piping models with provided fittings which are used in many industries. Very flexible, open for adding new and editing existing fittings. VOSS and Parker fittings catalogues are included. Works on any Inventor 10 or 11version.

"Power arrays"
- arrays of features and arrays of fastening connections, which will fill special areas or go through selected contour - its fastest way to reach your goal in design. Fully parametrical and supported by standard Inventor features and flexible for your needs it will help you to design very complex projects.

IDF import inside.
This feature exists only in Inventor Professional, but what do you do if you need it on all your seats, but cabling and harness design will be done only on some of them? GMCS allows you to do it.

Additional capabilities for drawings.
You need to create complex tables, create big MS Word style texts or show special information labels? You can do this with GeniusMechaniCS. Very fast, very clean and works the same way as in AutoCAD variant of the product.

Unified database
Unified database of standard and custom parts and assemblies on Autodesk platforms allows for easy transfer of projects between GeniusMechaniCS for AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT and Inventor without any data loss or conversion in any direction.

Library manager, allowing usage, creation and management of manufacturer, customer and standard parts and assemblies: Library manager is the unified management tool for all supplied manufacturer parts, intelligent standard parts with the corresponding standard part features as well as user parts. It assures productivity increase at finding, selecting, inserting and changing parts and standard assemblies.

Standard parts and the relevant standard part features such as holes, threads, countersinks… are frequently used design elements in technical drawings. Because of the great variety and frequent modifications during the design and dimensioning in the development process, they occupy a great part of the design time.

Since this contains the largest potential for saving time and costs in the design process, GMCS offers a trend-setting intelligent solution for more efficiency.

All the parts and assemblies are generated in native Inventor format and support Inventor native projects technology.

The library manager brings into the designer hands: Parts database and special commands:

A common technology database contains intelligently linked parts. A change made to any part automatically entails appropriate changes in all the other linked parts in accordance with their values in the database

Such design technology is a powerful versatile tool that accelerates your design creation and improves product quality

For instance:
during insertion of a nut on the bolt it automatically determines bolt's size and constraints. If bolt after completion of the fastening must be longer to provide right assembly condition its length automatically changes to the next standard size.

If engineer changes diameter of any part in such assembly - all other linked parts will be corrected automatically.

The same conditions work for parts (bearing, gears, covers, seals and others) placed on shaft or for hydraulic and pneumatic armature connected with pipes. It's highly important that both AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor users can benefit from this functionality. GeniusMechaniCS enables using not only standard parts geometry, but also their mechanical properties. Working in AutoCAD you can assign geometry & parametric constrains to assembly components as well as apply predefined layout constrains, and after that transfer assembly to Autodesk Inventor model.

Automated, knowledge base driven design of piping and fittings in assemblies

Special module designed for pneumatic and hydraulic elements of project adds new power in the design process. It allows to simply place holes and valves, unite them using manual and automatic pipeline creation methods. During placement system automatically recognizes size and insertion point of parts, autoconnects them to each other and gives the possibility to control all pipeline in project context: make and edit it relative to existing geometry using 'parallel', 'with offset', 'perpendicular' or 'through hole' options.

MechWizard - system for intuitive capture of design intent and creation of libraries of custom parts and assemblies.

This simple and convenient tool for creating standard parts allows formalizing the rules of object's behavior in assembly or copying existing objects properties from the database.
